Using reclaimed mahogany parquet flooring this hallway was painstakingly re-floored obtaining a fabulous result.
Working with reclaimed materials always incurs time in preparing the materials for use. In this case the parquet needed to be stripped of tar and made good to a relative thickness. Each edge needed to be cleaned to ensure consistent joints. Approximately 700 tiles were used in this installation.
Accurate cutting of joints and scribing around the staircase resulted in a floor of class and character.
This project included the stripping back of years of paint off the staircase to reveal the fielded panels and replacement of the hand rail and spindles.
