To match the previously installed Maple floor a matching sliding barn door was required.
Care was taken over the dimensions of the door to ensure that when closed the flooring boards and door panels were aligned, the door aperture was adequately covered and space was allowed for the door to slide in the limited space and not obstruct the electrical sockets.
In keeping with the character of the reclaimed flooring, rough sawn joists were found and jointed to support the weight of the door from the top door frame alone as only this would be holding the door suspended on the runners.
