Reclaimed Maple Flooring Installation
This project involved the installation of solid Maple flooring to match flooring previously installed over twenty years ago. The closest match and most cost effective option was to purchase reclaimed Maple, clean and fit.
Because the floor was lifted, additional lighting cables for two way switches and electrical sockets were added to improve the layout of the room.
Choosing how to deal with transitions between rooms and fitting to fireplaces and around spiral stairs added to the interest of the flooring installation.
As can be seen from the photographs, the flooring had been reclaimed from an industrial building and was dirty from years of use. After fitting, the floor was planed and sanded enabling the beauty and character of the wood to shine through.
